Each RAG business unit is dedicated to:

  1. Risk Assessment: Identify and assess health and safety risks resulting from business activities.
  2. Resource Allocation: Provide appropriate resources to support health and safety initiatives.
  3. Management Systems: Develop and maintain health and safety management systems that comply with the company’s standards.
  4. Contractor Management: Select and manage contractors to ensure they align with our health and safety policies.
  5. Training: Provide suitable training for all staff to perform their work safely.
  6. Emergency Preparedness: Ensure emergency response procedures are in place and regularly tested to handle incidents.
  7. Accountability: Hold line management accountable for health and safety performance.
  8. Performance Appraisal: Include health and safety competence and performance in staff appraisals.
  9. Continuous Engagement: Engage with clients, contractors, and suppliers to continuously raise health and safety standards.

Responsibility and Implementation

  • Leadership Responsibility: Health and safety responsibility starts with the Chief Executive and flows through all levels of line management to the front-line employees and contractors.
  • Employee Awareness: Every RAG employee is responsible for understanding the health and safety risks in their work area and actively reducing these risks.
  • Empowerment to Act: All employees are empowered to speak up if they have any health or safety concerns.
